SunFeeds

SunFeeds is a start-up based in Lund, Sweden, focused on developing a food product and formulating an approach to facilitate it in a sustainable way. Their aim is to create a new high-energy food product based on sunflower kernels that fills existing gaps in the market. They have two products: SunFeeds-RUTF, aimed at children aged 6-59 months who suffer from severe malnutrition, and SunFeeds-Cream, aimed at elderly individuals in the healthcare system. Both products are easily packaged in portion-sized sachets with a long shelf life. SunFeeds follows an approach where manufacturing is based in regions where the product is needed, making it economically sustainable and able to feed itself. Their vision is to turn emergency food aid into a long-term sustainable measure. The team at SunFeeds is made up of Elsa Sjödahl and Iris Bjerkén, who are studying mechanical engineering at Lund University while running the company.
